Now it’s time again to say “O’zapft is !”

With the ceremonial procession of the festival hosts on Saturday, September 19^th, 2026, the this year’s Munich Oktoberfest opens its gates again. Then it’s time again to say “O’zapft is !” (“the Beer Barrel has been tapped”).
Also some of our Teddy Bears from the HERMANN Archive couldn’t resist joining the festival fun and celebrating Oktoberfest. For many years, they have patiently awaited for this big moment to be allowed as famous Bears with the No. 001 to poke their little noses out of the HERMANN Archive.
Dressed in their stylish traditional Bavarian costumes, they sway happily along to the music. By this even the celebrities become jealous and our “Coburg Bratwurst Bear” shows everyone that the “Coburg Bratwürste” (Coburg Rosted Sausages) really are the best. Well then “Ein Prosit der Gemütlichkeit !” (“A Toast to Coziness !“).

The Munich Oktoberfest is the largest and most famous folk festival in the world. It was first held in 1810 to celebrate the wedding of the Bavarian King Ludwig I (1786–1868). Since then, it has been celebrated annually on Munich’s “Theresienwiese” (Theresa’s Meadow), which bears the bride’s name. For this reason, the “Munich Oktoberfest” is often simply called “Wiesn”. It lasts 15 days and usually ends on the first Sunday in October.
