Martin Luther (1483-1546)

Martin Luther was born 1483 in Eisleben. The Augustinereremiten Monk fought for the religious liberty. He initiated 1517 the Reformation and established the Protestantism. In autumn 1517 he published 95 thesis at the castle church in Wittenberg. For all he criticized the indulgence. 1521 in Worms, it came to the breach with the church, when he refused to retract his thesis. His famous words were: “Here I am standing, I can do nothing else, God helps me, Amen!” Nevertheless, Luther didn’t want to split the church in the first, he only want to reform it. But because he was banished from the church and the state, he founded the Evangelical Church. 1525 Martin Luther married the former Nun Katharina von Bora. With it, he confessed consciously to the wedlock. The Holy Bible was for him the only authority referring questions about the dogma. Therefore he wanted that everybody can read it. So he started to translate the Bible into German language. During his stay at the castle “Wartburg” 1521/22, where he bore the cover name knight “Junker Jörg”, he translated the New Testament into German language. From April until October 1530 he found a hiding place at the castle “Veste Coburg”. 1534 he finished his translation of the Bible and published the first complete edition of the German Bible. Thanks to the invention of the letterpress printing, the German Bible spread in lighting speed. Now all people were able to read the Bible by themselves. Luther was a brilliant creator of new words. With his Bible translation he established the High German language for whole Germany. He influenced the development of the German language lastingly like no other. Without him the modern Germany would not be thinkable. He called for and furthered the education of the people. With it he laid the foundations of the modern knowledge society. 1546 Martin Luther passed away in Eisleben and was buried in Wittenberg.

Mohiar, finest  Material for Teddybears

Mohair is made from one of nature`s finest  sources for natural fiber, the Angora goat. This special fur is very long and naturally wavy. When sheared (this usually occurs twice a year) it is called mohair. The term "mohair" is derived from the Arabian word "Muhayar" which literally means "the fabric of goat hair". Despite the name similarity there is no relation to the Angora rabbit.

The collection of this noble hair does not require any animals to be harmed!

Angora goats are a delicate animal and are very sensitive to temperature change. This requires a dependable mild climate. Summers not so hot that the meadows dry out and winters not too cold. In the entire world there are only three regions that consistently meet these ideal conditions: Texas, USA, South Africa and Turkey.

The fur of the Angora go at is naturally white, curly and shiny. Its fibers have a remarkable strength when made into a pile fabric. These characteristics together with the noble appearance, silky feel and sheen make mohair one of the finest  fibers offered by nature.
